CELEBRATE NFL SEASON WITH AMERICA'S FAVORITE LIGHT LAGER
BY RANDY RAMIREZ AND LEILANI DE LEON
It’s football season, y’all! Who else is excited and ready to cheer on their favorite teams and players?! Forget your pumpkin spice lattes—nothing beats celebrating NFL season than drinking some crisp and refreshing Bud Lights, America’s favorite light lager! Unless you’re a creature of Thursday Night Football, then you’re probably more inclined to celebrate with the newly revamped and electric Bud Light Platinum.
Now let’s talk football. We’re officially into the third week of NFL season, kicked off with a sloppy 20-7 Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans game on Thursday Night. Titans fans were hopeful that their team would bounce back from a 1-1 loss against the Indianapolis Colts, but lo and behold, the Jaguars picked up a new quarterback that no one outside of Washington has even heard of! Gardner Minshew went into the field with full intention of taking the Jags to victory with two touchdown passes before the second quarter and setting some passing records.
On Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys were able to cover the spread and beat the Miami Dolphins in a 31-6 victory despite a slow start. Yes, yes, we know we have a few Cowboys haters out there, but let’s face it—would it really be football season without a little trash talk?! No way.
The Colts also slammed the Atlanta Falcons in a close 27-24 game that resulted in Pro Bowl Safety, Keanu Neal, suffering an Achilles heel injury and his season cut short. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, again, had some great off-balance throws and showed tremendous arm strength during the Chiefs vs. Baltimore Ravens game, leading his team to a 33-28 victory—which leads us to the side drama caused by pot-stirrers at The Athletic Kansas City, who boldly Tweeted some shade against former Cowboys quarterback, Troy Aikman.
“ICYMI: “Patrick Mahomes has thrown 36% of Troy Aikman’s career touchdowns, in about 8% of the games”—to which Troy Aikman clapped back: “ICYMI: Talk to me when he has 33% of my Super Bowl Titles”.
We can’t end this without bringing up America’s favorite team to hate on—our New England Patriots! Tom Brady continues to demonstrate his football prowess with two more touchdowns added this Sunday in a 30-14 win over the New York Jets, bringing up his season total to 7 touchdowns and 911 yards—not bad for a 40-year-old quarterback! We know what you’re thinking: Please Patriots, let someone else win this year’s Super Bowl! Tom and Bill, give someone else a chance, please.
There’s no denying that the energy and excitement of football season gives us all life! Once Thursday night rolls around, everything just seems to feel right in the world again; and come Sunday, we guarantee you that Terry Bradshaw will be on everyone’s TV with his pregame commentary shenanigans. Step outside and smell the carne asada, people—there’s nothing more American than football and Bud Lights! That’s a fact.
